Scheduling for next school year is underway and here is the scheduling timeline for students in Grade 10:
January 10 – 31, 2025

SY 25/26 Course Registration Forms are available in Class of 2027 Google Classroom (Class code: udw6d6g). 10th grade students with their parents are invited to fill out a course selection form based on their "first choice" response on the "intentions" survey or the program that they feel would be the overall best fit for them. There are four course registration forms:

Students will fill out only ONE form and read the form thoroughly. By filling out a course registration form for a particular program like (IB, DE, ACCA, etc.) does NOT guarantee entrance into that program, you must meet the criteria and be accepted into these academic programs.

DE Academic Consultation Meeting - rising juniors interested in Dual Enrollment, must set up a meeting with the College/Career Advisor, Ms. Anderson, to discuss whether DE is a good fit for you, your transportation options, and our partner schools. “IB Student Interest Meeting” an IB meeting for students interested in taking IB classes will be held on Wednesday, January 15th at 2:30 PM in the Theatre. All rising juniors who expressed an interest in taking IB classes will be invited to this meeting. Students will hear from former and current IB students who participated in IB DP, IB CP or Course Candidate.

10th Grade Scheduling “Drop-In” Help Sessions - every Thursday in January (1/16, 1/23, and 1/30) from 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM, Ms. Boykin will be holding a "scheduling" drop-in session via Zoom for students and parents to stop by to get help and ask questions.

Individual 1:1 conference will be held with students who are taking regular level courses, and who are "off-track.” Students will be meeting with the grade-level counselor and Graduation Coach to devise a “catch-up” plan.

IB MYP Parent Night – Dr. Jenkins, IB MYP Coordinator, will be hosting a parent meeting via Zoom for 2nd semester. Meeting time/link – TBD.

“One Goal” Recruitment Meeting - selected 10th grade students will be invited to the recruitment meeting to learn more about One Goal a two-year mentoring program. The meeting will take place January 23rd in the Media Center during 2nd and 4th period. Rising 11th grade students are invited based on a GPA of 80+/-.
February 3-14, 2025

An individual 1:1 meeting with Ms. Boykin and Ms. Costarides (IB Coordinator) will begin with potential IB students to determine the appropriate IB program. Students should come to their advisement conferences prepared by having both the intentions survey and course registration form completed.
February 11, 2025

Small group meetings will be held for students entering Dual Enrollment and ACCA programs. Students who signed up to participate in ACCA (CTAE pathway or a DE program) will meet with the ACCA Counselor and NAHS Counselors.
February 17 – March 7, 2025

Individual "one-on-one" conferences will be held for students who are taking non IB Options: regular/honors-levels, AP or IB Course Selection and Pathway Completion."

IB MYP Project – deadline is February 27, 2025. This culminating project will count as a summative grade in your core classes. For students new to NAHS this semester, please meet with Dr. Jenkins (RM 6163) and complete your "alternative" IB MYP project.

Transcripts with first semester grades have been updated in Parchment, place a new order to “self” in Parchment (http://www.parchment.com) to see your first semester grades.
PSAT Interpretation Night – Tuesday, January 14th at 6:00 PM
We are partnering with Applerouth to host a PSAT Score Interpretation Zoom Night for Parents (and students) this coming Tuesday, January 14th at 6pm! Find out what your students’ scores mean and how they can help you create a personalized study plan to prepare for the official SAT or future PSAT exams!

All course request changes must be submitted using the Add/Drop Google form which will be open from March 18-20

Schedule change requests sent via email WILL NOT be processed; counselors will only review and process requests submitted on the Add/Drop form.

Students/Parents will not receive status updates or notifications about requested changes; approved changes will be viewable in the Infinite Campus Academic Planner after spring break.

Counselors cannot accommodate any change requests via email, phone or in person.

Parents interested in learning more about their rising 10th grade student’s academic course placement and elective selections for next school year, are invited to attend one of our upcoming parent info sessions.

FRESHMEN reFESHMENt (Academic Support Opportunity)
Are you a freshman failing 1 or more core class?
If so, take advantage of FRESHMEN reFRESHMENt on Saturday, October 28 from 9am-12pm in the NAHS Cafeteria.
This is an opportunity for you to bring up your grade(s) and increase your chance of passing your classes this semester. A teacher from each core area will be available to assist students if needed, along with upperclassman peer tutors. Students can earn up to 80% credit for work completed during this time. Only 9th grade students who attend in-person will be eligible for this recovery opportunity.

Mock PSAT Opportunity at NAHS: Saturday, Dec 2
Test drive the PSAT before you take the official test sophomore year. Applerouth's full-length practice exams provides a testing experience under test like conditions. Afterwards, you will receive a comprehensive score report that identifies strengths and targets areas for improvement, so you'll know exactly where to focus your prep before your official test day.
In partnership with Applerouth Tutoring, North Atlanta will be offering a Mock PSAT on Saturday, December 2nd from 9am-11:30am. This will be a digital test taken on the North Atlanta HS campus.
This is a great practice opportunity for current 9th graders interested in qualifying for the IB Diploma or IB Career-Related Programs.
